CUTTING & SCORING

Black Cardstock:
1 @ 5½” x 8½” Score at 2 and 1/8”
from each end along the long side.
1 @ 3” x 7/8” Bow Tie
1 @ 1”x ¼” Centre of Bow Tie

White Cardstock:
1 @ 5½” x 4 and 1/8” Shirt Front
1@ 5¼” x 4” For message on back of card

Black Yupo Paper:
2 @ 1¾ ” x 5½”

Bow Tie:

Round all 4 corners of the 3” x 7/8” piece.
Break the fibres of this piece.
Score the 3” strip at 1½” and adhere the rounded corners to the back, just short of the score line on either side.
Turn the card over and trim the 3” x 7/8” piece to match the rounded corners.
Adhere the 1”x ¼” piece to the centre.

ASSEMBLY

1. Work on the Yupo paper first.
2. Using the alcohol blending solution and chosen alcohol inks, colour your black Yupo paper. I find that when using black paper, it is best to start with white ink.
3. Set aside to dry.
4. With the inside of the card facing up, mark at 1” along the top from the outer edge and 3” down the side of the card.
5. Score diagonally between these 2 marks.
6. Do this on both sides.
7. Trim both the coloured Yupo paper pieces to 1½ ” x 5¼”
8. Adhere this to the inside flaps, leaving a small border on the top, bottom and sides.
9. Burnish the lapels.
10. Burnish the 2 gatefold flaps. [They should meet in the middle]
11. Adhere the white 5¼” x 4” to the back of the card.
12. Score the shirt front piece at 7/8”and every 1/8” 7 times. [this includes the first mark.]
13. Repeat for the other side.
14. Adhere to the centre of the inside of the card.
15. Close the Gatefold card and glue the bow tie to the centre top of the shirt piece.
16. Attach a row of pearls to the centre, spacing evenly. Stop at the end of the lapels.
17. Glue the lapels to the outside of the card. Only glue the centre of the lapels so that you get a 3D effect.
18. Use the larger pearls on the outside of the Tux front.
